Learning an Instrument🎸

A huge achievement today! I started learning how to use an instrument using a combination of habitica guild and dailies. Hoping this continues on and I learn a song one day. This has been on my New Years Resolution List for a long time so this really means a lot to me!

2nd Day: I just finished learning the A-chord still perfecting the D-chord for my guitar. I noticed that my fingers hurt a lot when I hold down the frets for a long period of time. As a beginner, I believe this should be normal though. My current goal is to get at least the basic chords down. Spent some extra time practicing this morning on my D-chord. I said thanks to the people on my habitica guild that helped me get started on this musical journey. Only 2 more basic chords to learn!

5th Day: I made progress on my D and A chord over the past few days. However, I found myself finding it harder to keep my daily practice routine going. My fingers have started to adjust finally to pressing down on the guitar strings. I recently asked my choir director if he could show me how to switch chords better tomorrow. I am still very hopeful for making progress. I now have a dream of one day playing the electric guitar and any song. Hoping to use those dreams as fuel to keep me going on mastering the guitar.

Why You Should Say "Hi" First

Ever walk down the street and see millions of faces you don't know and just wish on the inside that you had the courage to talk to people. As an introvert and shy guy in general, I have struggled with this problem for most of my life and all of that slowly started to change the moment I decided to take initiative and say hi first. No one will wait for you to say it. I found it to be more of an instinct that occurs the moment I lay eyes on a close friend or acquaintance. It helps with easing the tension when our brains recognize a familiar face. If you struggle with social anxiety, this may help you ease those worries but the best way to do it still is to recognize that you need to reprogram your mind to see social situations in a different light honestly. What I Learned About Life From Watching "Codename: Kids Next Door (KND)"

The Kids Next Door (KND) is an early 2000s Cartoon Network TV show that was based on the idea of kids with their endless creativity teaming up with their friends to fight off their enemies who were regularly adults. I know this concept seems a bit convoluted but it actually is a lot more understandable than it sounds. KND only fights evil adults that treat others badly because not all adults are bad and not all teenagers are bad either; it is the acts of unfair treatment or cheating that causes this team of operatives to spring into action and save others, specifically kids. They are similar to the Men In Black or the James Bond for children giving them a voice when no one could at their age. When I was a kid, this show had an amazing impact on me!
