Can A Dream Define You?

A lot of people say that the words we keep telling ourselves everyday can shape who we are. Dreams especially can be the most mysterious. They can communicate our deepest wants and desires but what about the nightmares, I mean who wants those? You would be surprised to know that those blanket wetting dreams can also be interpreted to describe a current state.

"Lately, I've been having weird dreams" sound familiar. The reality is that dreams are truly weird, they bend our reality until eventually we realize that some things are too good to be true. Sometimes a dream can feel so fulfilling that it makes you wish it were real. In other words, you envy your dream. A person who is dissatisfied with their life in the real world needs to wake up and realize that if you don't take action in real life you can never find out if your dream is even achievable.

A dream that defines you can either make you or break you. In reality, conquering the toughest goal, winning a battle, or finding your significant other is still possible and you don't need a dream to tell you that. You just may not be able to fully comprehend the truth to your dreams when they are first perceived. I once had a dream that people that had hurt me in some way apologized to me or I got that grade I wanted on that test or that girl at school finally started showing interest in me. These are all forms of my subconscious thinking that my mind can desire to be real, but should I let my lack of these moments define me. No, instead, I decide to place my time in creating my best story in the real world and not in the dream world. There is no gain from creating a fictional version of yourself that disappears when you wake up. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have dreams, but instead work to make your dreams a reality. Change your dreams to fit your reality.

Nightmares show us that we are dealing mainly with issues in our life that we need to solve. Don't be afraid to talk to someone about the troubles that may be occurring in your life. If we live in fear for too long, it can make it harder to see the bright side of life and thats where returning back to the real world comes to save the day! It is still better than the nightmare. It is another reminder that maybe dreams are a bit too over exaggerated. Don't be afraid to dream big and shoot for it though because they may still come true as they say in Disney movies.

Remember it is what we practice everyday whether it is a dream or not that determines who we are so I would recommend you take control of your dream. Yes, a dream can define you but still let it work for you. Finally the work we do in reality will last longer and have more impact on others than what we do in a fictional dream world so try to make your life more desirable than your life in dreams.
