How To Keep Studying When You're Sick

It's that time of the school year again the time when you know you still need to study for that quiz this week or start on that group project but the inevitable happens. You get sick. It happens to the best of us no matter how clean you try to be you may eventually experience a runny nose or sniffles. Luckily, I have compiled a few tips to help get you through those busy days. Lets begin:

1. Bring tissues

  • I use this method every time I feel a runny nose coming on. I usually purchase those $1 pack of folded Kleenex brand tissue they sell at your school's store or probably and store with school supplies or cleaning utilities. I would recommend against using regular tissue rolls because it may damage the skin on your nose causing it to become more inflamed with redness. Remember after wiping for a good period of time to apply a hand sanitizer just in case germs may cross the tissue barrier.

2. Stay away from large groups of people

  • If you have a choice, try to sit in an area of the classroom where not a large number of people would sit. This can be the back of the classroom. Personally, I sit in the front because not many people usually sit in the front during class allowing me to only be seen by mainly the teacher. Less people would have to deal with me constantly wiping my nose and there is a smaller chance of spreading any sickness.

3. Use every break from class to clean yourself up or disinfect in the restroom.

  • Prioritizing your health is important in class so remember to stand up and walk to the restroom every once in a while to completely disinfect your hands with some soap and water. It is also a great way to get some fresh air.

4. Exercise after

  • If nothing else here works out, my main solution is to remember to exercise at least by the end of the day to help your body fight the infection and stay healthy. I find jogging really does help clear my sinuses and going for periodic muscle workouts help keep me in a positive mindset especially when it has been a rough day at school. Exercising is a great way to recharge after the roughest day and you will look better in the long run.

5. Be thankful that your still making any progress

  • In the long run, as long as you have put in at least some sort of effort to continue your studies in order to further your educational goals. You can always be satisfied that at the end of the day you will be growing and that when you realize its time for rest and your health is demanding you to only rest then listen to your body. Taking care of your health in any way possible will increase your chances of recovery and ability to work for longer periods of time in the future.

I hope you feel better and I hope you find something helpful here. If you found this blog post helpful, please consider subscribing or sharing it with a friend I try to upload regularly. Stay healthy!
