How To Laugh More

Lately, I've been enjoying interacting with people on social media. Facebook and Instagram specifically. I enjoy laughing at other people's material and other people making me laugh. I used to feel nervous about online interaction.

Don't take life too seriously. I noticed as humans we have the tendency to overthink the smallest of problems and assume the worst. The reality is if things are out of our control there's no point in holding onto those worries any longer. Lighten up and don't be afraid to laugh at yourself once in a while you'll find yourself much happier when you know exactly what you are and what you aren't. If you can see the bright side and funny side to everything you'll be easily able to add more happiness and value to your life. Don't focus on things you can't change and start focusing on what you can. See the good side in everything and stop focusing on the negative.

As personally a very serious person and an introvert, I have come up with a few tips to help you laugh more.

1. Do activities that you love even if you know they are embarrassing. An example of this would be dancing, singing, vlogging, etc. (basically activities that people may look at you weird doing but are enjoyable). Self-acceptance is powerful and if someone calls you out for being yourself and doing what you love especially if it makes you happy then the person with the problem is a criticizer unless they are giving you critique to improve your hobbies. Laugh at yourself for a bit as you receive any critique and remember that this is all part of the process as you grow in a new skill set.

2. Using social media. With a serious day at work, you know that you could use a good laugh at least at the end of your day. Apps especially Tiktok are bound to get you either amused or laughing at great content which is produced daily.

3. Feeling jealous? You may feel like you want to change or you could be overthinking. Laugh a bit more, lighten up, remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and recognize you have a lot going for you champ! You don't need to change or its funny how you would change to fit in other people's opinions. Be unique, be you! Be someone who finds humor and joy in negative situations. Stare challenges in the face and be happy!

4. Remember you don't have all the problems in the world. A good laugh would be someone wasting their whole day feeling depressed over feelings or ideas that they can't control or worries that may exist in the future. What about you right now? What about your mental state now? From a birds eye view try viewing yourself as someone who chooses the positive mindset, the positive feelings, choose the humor and happiness. Most of all don't choose people who don't choose you. Let things come naturally.

5. Worried that you're wasting your time and need a good laugh? Imagine how happy you will be when you get that big assignment done. Plan your happy moments for after tough challenges. Schedule social events for celebrations! Close friends can easily bring out a happy spark in us even after the roughest days.
