The Days It Feels Like You Have All The Problems In The World
Ever have those days when you're hit by failure after failure, I found myself in this circle quite recently after this past week. I ran for a couple positions for different executive boards and professional organizations ending up constantly getting turned down. The way my mind saw things at the time was it felt like I'm not good enough and people were laughing at me. I remember reading this quote on someone's story on Instagram, "Every storm will eventually run out." By that it means, it won't last forever. If you feel like getting down on yourself for failures that appear to keep rising despite your efforts. I am telling you that those failures are making you stronger and if you went through these feelings and are reading this you are already strong for choosing to grow and see the learning point of any failure.
With every failure there is a winner, you may not know it but the one who does not fight the tougher battle does not grow. It may appear that he is winning but in reality the one that fails and the one that no one thinks about has just gained the world. He understands his flaws and weaknesses better. I felt like this once, I felt like a failure but looking back after I started to achieve some form of success in my field even the smallest way and by choosing not to give up, I found myself winning once again. What matter is "how bad do you want it?" And if the answer to that question is "kind of" then don't pursue it and if its "hella bad" then go after it. Say "no" to things that you don't see yourself growing from and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. In the eyes of the public, the eyes of many who don't know you or your story you will eventually find one person who feels you, who believes in you, and believes that you are enough. You are enough to chase your dreams and every setback is key to your success.
Update: It has been one week since I had originally written this article and I can say without a doubt that choosing to stay positive despite what happened to me in the past has been the reason for my success. In the long run, I realized that the all time winner in all of these failures is myself because I got my time back. My time is the most valuable to me and spending it doing nonsense or doing things that don't add any value to my life is not worth spending time in. The more failures I had the more my vision started to narrow for what I want or specifically need to feel more accomplished in life. My mind sought positions for titles but the reality is that no one will care about the title of the position but more about what you did with that position and what you contributed through it. At the end of the day, ask yourself what have you done today to contribute to your success and the success of others in your field or even the world?
Challenge For You: For every failure you had today, I want you to think of 3 positive victories you had this week, 2 lessons you learned, and 1 reason why you should never give up on your dreams. If you follow through with this challenge I can see a winner, specifically a winner who does not stop when life gets hard. AKA, I see a fighter!
