Why Age Means Experience Enrichment & Not Just Getting Old

Ever been called old before or asked the dreadful question: How old are you? Everyone has probably been asked this question more than once, however, when you were a kid this question probably held no reaction when you gave your reply and no one thought negatively of it either because the reality was that you truly were just growing. By growing, I mean gaining enough experience to get your foot in the door so you can be prepared for what life was about to throw at you. In this post, I hope to clarify the value that comes with aging and remind everyone that aging creates the best version of you.

Today's View:

  • Growing older means less time to enjoy life
  • You look less attractive
  • Labels like boomer, etc.
  • Not much opportunities and should just retire

The Exception: People Who Had To Grow Up Early
Not everyone was gifted with a stable family, friendships, or education so they most likely had to learn how to grow up fast. This group is an exception because they reached a stage of maturity early in order to increase their survival and meet their personal needs.

The Right View:

  • Age means new horizons: traveling, job opportunities, skill acquisitions
  • Many mistakes and many lessons learned
  • More freedom and more responsibilities
  • Not a soft baby anymore, ready to take on life with a smile
  • Life is a game and you can maximize on each opportunity with each experience.
This is how I like to view age. It should be more of a number of experience level similar to the high level of a person who spends time on a video game. Your age is a reflection of where you've been growing which is yourself. In every aspect of your life, you have been constantly growing with each new activity, decision, and failure. Your age should be something you should be praised for and of course, something you should be thankful for. At the end of the day, knowing you lived a great life and worked very hard at that last level will mean the most. Thinking about all the lives you've touched and the positive impact you've had on others will sky rocket you to more success and overall satisfaction in life.

Age is bliss and strength!

I hope this helps change your view on growing older and you continue to grow to become a great person!
