Drawing in 2020

As a 90s child, I remember growing up writing with the old fashioned pencil and paper. I used the line paper that we were given at school and became even more excited when I had the chance to try my hand on xerox paper. I used to pretend I was comic book writer and would write dozens of made up comics of the character Sonic. Some comics were colored using red pink while many weren't. Needless to say, I had my fair share of drawing as a kid and even had the privilege of selling one of my drawings of Sonic surprisingly. In 2020, drawing has changed so much from what I remembered.

I use an iPad Pro for school to take notes on slides and edit photos but my roommates and a friend I made on Twitter convinced me to try out the app Procreate. Lately, I've been astounded with the art that this app can create and all of the many things children of this time are creating with it. If you use the app, Tiktok you would know just how creative people have become with this app by using their drawings to create beautiful visual art videos to express their feelings and ideas on various topics. I learned a bit of editing on the app too.

I wanted to try my hand on drawing on the iPad so I downloaded the app and drew pictures for things I've been very much interested in lately which includes the Kids Next Door (KND) and Animal Crossing! I drew my character and my favorite KND character: Wallabee Beatles aka. Numbuh 4. I spent my whole morning working on these drawings and have even attached them below this post. The things that this app provides to artists is jaw dropping.

First, your given basically the whole color rainbow to work with! Also you're able to work with "Layers" which allows you to add on top of your current progress. I find this genius because people will be able to use a template for their drawings to build off of without losing their previous progress. I've just recently jumped back into using this app and I can honestly see myself growing as a person who can somewhat draw. Having the opportunity to draw anytime without making too much of a mess or running to the store to buy more crayons or paint is also a blessing.

I would definitely say if your looking for a skill to learn in 2020. Definitely try drawing you might find a new hobby or have a thought in your imagination that you've been wanting to bring to life for a while. Of course, these master pieces will take time to create but perseverance and trying a little bit every day will soon start to show progress. If you have any difficulty using the app, there is still a plethora of resources available to you from people who have probably encountered a similar issue. These include sites such as Google and Youtube.

I hope you find something helpful here! Please consider subscribing with your email for more posts delivered to you!

I made these drawings today of Numbuh 4 (KND) and myself in Animal Crossing New Horizons!
