Cartoons help with Drawing As A Passion

Lately, I've been looking for inspiration. I'm very much new to drawing once again since I'm older and am looking for new ways to utilize my iPad. I recently have also been scrolling through drawings from Google and Tumblr and have found myself inspired to create my own art. I found it fascinating how people can take such simple ideas and turn them into something amazing. Combination art has specifically fascinated me. It is where people take concept art from two different worlds or styles of drawings and mix them together.

I wanted to capitalize on this idea in my own way so I took on the challenge of creating one piece of art every day. I want to challenge myself and my ability to focus to create something amazing to look back on. I gave up on art when I was a kid because I felt so limited honestly. I didn't believe that I could draw things since my sister was the one who won all the art contests but with the advancement of technology in the world today. I realized it's even easier to pick up new hobbies than it used to ever be in the past. Lately, I've been experimenting with Star Wars and cartoons specifically Codename: Kids Next Door because these are both favorites of mine and I've recently been binging them.

What I'm saying here is I've found a new form of self expression through drawing art pieces. I love reawakening childhood skills because what people tell you about school is true. You won't like it if you're forced to do it. Every skill you pick up or develop should be built through a natural self inclination involving such a strong desire to make it happen that it stimulates your mind to action or fills your mind with thoughts before you even go to bed or even better if it keeps you up at night. That is a sign that you have creativity going on in your head and you should definitely go and chase it already! Don't wait for anyone to tell you to try drawing. Find your why and make sure it's not based on other people telling you to do it so that you're less likely to give up on your first sign of failure because you'll know deep inside that your desire to achieve the new skill is stronger than your fear of failure or rejection.

I find cartoons as a great place to start for someone who is trying to get into drawing once again like me. For example, maybe you grew up with a favorite TV show as a kid or a cool video game! There is tons of art that went into creating those stories so it's important to seek it out and if you truly want to emulate the ideas try your hand at drawing, coloring, sketching, painting, editing, or even filming! Yes with the Procreate app you can create animations of your drawings. I use it as a reminder that success takes time. I noticed my favorite pieces took me almost 2 hours to create! It truly is possible with the right mindset and determination.

I hope you find something helpful here and happy drawing! If you enjoyed this post, please consider subscribing with your email on the entry above for more posts.
