Is it weird to play with toys as an adult?

Not many believe this, but adults play with toys too! Since many adults were at one point kids. Not a lot of people would believe this but having toys, dolls, action figures, etc. help children develop essential skills in real life such as team work, problem solving, sharing, and just the cool feeling of owning nice things in life.

An adult who plays with toys is someone who grew up with creative thoughts and ideas during their childhood probably watching a lot of great TV shows or cartoons. These things never really leave us as we grow up. Just like a video game character is so memorable when your young that you can probably recall a few off the top of your head right now.

A lot of people like to view the idea of growing up under a negative connotation. They believe that it involves giving up all the things we used to enjoy as a kid, however, is that really worth it? I mean at one point you spent a good amount of money on it and built beautiful memories playing with your toy. Is it really worth throwing in the trash or selling off on eBay or some online site? Maybe or maybe you actually find value in your toys as a source of memorabilia or as a symbol of your childhood! This is how I view the ownership of my toys now. They are memories sitting around. Battle scars, they are symbols of my growth of characters and ideas I absolutely adored and admired at some point in life. Would I let them go or throw them away? No, but I would share the joy I had by others by letting them play with my toys too. Life is better when it's shared with the people around us. We can't always keep everything to ourselves or we may lose our minds.

The minimalist inside you would probably tell you to throw everything away but I want to challenge you today to start something new or build a better version of yourself through what you see in your toys. Imagine the younger version of yourself when you first started playing with your toys lost in imagination looking at the person you've become now. You might both laugh at the idea that things haven't really change but that's honestly the beauty of life. We grow and we change.

Here is another reason to hold onto your toys: imagine you have kids and wanted to share some of the joys you had growing up playing with your toys that you luckily still held onto just hanging around your home. Imagine playing with your children and telling them about all the stories and adventures you went on with your toys. The times you flew to space, met Batman, became that secret agent, went to war with nothing but swords and guns, or lived a life of a cartoon character!

Life is beautiful and short. Don't let other people judge you for doing things that share remnants of your childhood or your happiness. These things will all only further help you grow into a better person. Don't forget you were once a kid at one point who enjoyed different things. That kid is still there surprisingly deep inside. Embrace him and watch him grow into someone great!

I hope you find something helpful here!

Here are some old photos of toys I've recently acquired, still cleaning them and one day they will be good as new so I can go on more adventures once again.
