Why You Should Share Your Art For Free
Not a lot of people would probably agree with this but art is part of everyone and every piece was inspired by an idea consumed by our minds. It honestly wouldn't be right to always keep our ideas to ourselves and not share them with others or the world. Who knows you might inspire future artists or come up with an idea that goes over something that a person may be looking for. The internet is full of resources so why not be a contributor instead of always being a consumer. Add more value to others lives and you will start seeing more value appearing in your own.
My journey in art starting on a late night of finals week in college. I had never drawn a piece of art since I was in middle school and most of the stuff I drew was mainly of Sonic. I asked myself, so what happened to those drawings I made as a kid? That's right, they ended up in the trash to be forgotten. Now, no one would find value in my work and frankly I would probably even forget about what I drew. Here's one of the biggest benefits of sharing what you create. It's essentially a photo book of all you created with your mind and hands.
One of the most beautiful things about art is that it's inspired by numerous facets of life. You don't have to always come up with something original. You're able to take ideas other people have had original or not and use them to create something new. I can guarantee you that majority of the work or art being put out today wasn't always original a good amount of it was inspired by classics such as blockbuster movies, games, music, and real life experiences. So don't be afraid to start and worry about starting from scratch just build on the ideas of other, who knows what you might come up with!
It's not always the best choice to keep art to ourselves because it's just so limiting just like you everything is ephemeral we either have an impact or do nothing. Why not try and share your ideas with others. Plan a showcase, show your friends, don't let critique ever get you down. There's no point in hiding your thoughts from others due to fear of rejection. Fearing what other people think of you weighs in no comparison to the art of putting yourself out there for others to see your greatness, to see your creative mind blossoming.
Personally, I've been using drawing as a way to express my ideas by combining concepts in a way my mind finds more enjoyable. I adapt constantly to new issues in my life but I always make it a point to practice this skill and share great work or at least make plans to share my work with friends or for the world to see on the internet.
I originally started out on Tumblr and have transitioned to Deviantart. There's still so much different platforms to share on including Twitter and Instagram. Everyone has an opinion so don't be afraid to share you'll never know what impact you might make.
I hope you find something helpful here.
