Tiktok is for Creatives!

Being someone, who personally enjoys dancing. I definitely can say without a doubt that Tiktok is a great place to go if you like dancing or want to build some sort of audience. I first started on the platform uploading random videos of me dancing to K-pop which gained more than 100 views surprisingly! Tiktok is a great place to start if you got the time to express your creativity through short 1 min maximum videos.

I first learned about the app through one of Gary Vaynerchuk's podcasts. He talked about how the app was going to be big and I wanted to see it for myself. I later started uploading more videos on the app over Christmas break and was amazed that I even started getting a few likes and comments on my posts.

I currently use the app to upload performances to songs that don't end up on my IG or Youtube dance page. If you are a creative of any sort I'm sure you can find some sort of value through this app. It is inspiring to learn about other peoples' journeys on the apps too.

Highly addictive! I find myself scrolling through the app watching dance videos, vines, and memes. Videos ranging from asian stereotypes to anime references. I end up using this app for hours but I don't think my time is wasted. The app definitely does brighten up my mood in a certain way.

Balance is key: if you want to get good at Tiktok and still balance your regular life that you had before it. I would recommend using the app only on certain days and when you do use it try to be very intentional. An example of this would be only using the app to upload content rather than only consuming content for 3 hours straight. You have to make sure you have a life outside of social media and still try to maintain an ability of not being afraid to share your art with the world!

I hope you find something helpful here! Please consider subscribing to my blog if you did. I do my best to post regularly.
